I suspect - not being on the Denver bid Committee - that his
involvement in convention running played a factor.  He has been quite
active behind the scenes for a few decades.  I believe he has had some
fanzine activity, but regretfully I can't say exactly where and what and
etc, but that said, I would not categorize him as a "fanzine fan", but
rather someone who has been involved in fandom for many years.

Are there folks with longer experience, more fanzine activity?  Almost
certainly.
