"For Stephen King's Lisey's Story, which is coming out October 24,
Scribner has pushed the book "almost as if it were written by an
up-and-coming author on the verge of a breakout book," as the New York
Times put it today.

In the spring, the publisher sent out some 7,000 galleys to booksellers
and the press."

And here at JHUP we worry over 800 copy printings of a finished
book...
