Bill Squire (or so I was told...I'm really awful at names,
unfortunately). He was found to be slumped in his chair after last night's
meeting. Most figured he was just napping, but when he couldn't be roused,
911 was called. The EMTs worked on him a bit, and then took him to the
hospital (which was basically across the street...in case you hadn't heard,
first Friday meetings aren't at the Gillilands' anymore). After they laid
him out flat, he roused a bit, but was still pretty groggy. I believe his
BP was low (I think I overheard 104/40), which would account for his
passing out while seated, but rousing a bit once lying down.

I don't know what might be the problem. There are several obvious
possibilities, but likely to be a number of less obvious ones. It's
probably a good thing that whatever it was happened while he was with
friends, rather than at home, or on a street somewhere.

I'm going to suggest at a future meeting (though probably not the next one,
which will be at Capclave) that WSFA request (but not insist on) emergency
contact information for members, so that someone can be notified if
something like this happens again. It's obviously a rare occurrence, but
just as obviously not impossible, and it wasn't much fun having to respond
to the EMT's questions with "we don't know"...
