Either you haven't been to a tire store lately, or you are driving
something where the pedals go around and around...

The Michelin radials for my Jeep Grand Cherokee were a bit more than that a
couple of years ago.  Not bargain basement tires by any means, but I figure
my life is worth a few bucks, and they certainly perform.  On a dollars per
mile basis they aren't all that expensive anyway...they have a 65,000 mile
warranty.
