If I recall it was of the "ridiculous exaggeration" humor type...but Lee
managed to take it literally, despite it being *obviously* over the top, as

You aren't that good a German...I seem to recall you standing up at the
next WSFA meeting and taking credit for the post in question, and saying
pretty clearly that it was yours, not Keith's, and that if anyone took it
as anything other than the humor it was intended to be, you were very sorry
to have been the cause of any misunderstanding.  I'm sure my memory can be
confirmed or denied using the tape of that meeting, since Keith was still
secretary at the time and taping as usual (right Keith?).
