It was - and remains - a large hotel, fairly easy to it to handle
multiple not-large groups.

Heck, one year I bumped into my brother there... his senior prom was
the same weekend as Disclave.

As for a Worldcon in the Shoreham and Mariott (the former Sheraton),
yes it was done in 1974 with Discon II.  But I seem to recall it was
about 2 tracks of programming with a few other things.

The "modern" Worldcon, like it or not, is a huge multi-ring circus.

As for limiting the attendance, sure no problem... as long as my
friends can get in.
