Subject: [WSFA] Gilliland Christmas card

I've been provided with a copy of the Gillilands' Christmas card; I
won't say by whom. (Thanks.) It says, in part, "Our big news is that
on the third Friday in July there was a coup d'club which voted to
move WSFA out of Chez Gilliland. A bit of a shock that was, yes. The
short version is that this was mainly an attack on Lee in which I was
collateral damage. It also appears that the junta that engineered
the coup was astonished when we stopped coming to WSFA, and yes, we
have indeed left the club, but it makes you wonder what *were* they
thinking? If you really want more on this, send us a SASE requesting
my five page discussion of the issue which was mailed to the club
after Capclave."

So now we know that that five-page letter that libels numerous WSFAns
including the club's president, vice president, treasurer, and every
Capclave or Disclave chair *ever* who's still in the club who isn't
named Gilliland, is available to everyone on his Christmas list. What
a way to celebrate the season of peace on earth and good will to all.

There's also an Alexis cartoon in which the wizard says, "Too bad
about WSFA, but the Torah says the best revenge is living well."

The only other mentions of WSFA or Capclave are, "By way of contrast,
I wasn't invited to attend Capclave, WSFA's local con in October, so
of course we didn't go," and, "In November we went to Philcon, where,
unlike Capclave, we were not only invited, but I wound up on eight
panels while Lee was given three; again a reaction to the coup." (He
had also said "the coup had some influence" on his winning the Rotsler
award.)

It would be interesting to ask the folks in charge of Philcon
programming whether "the coup" played any role in their decisions.
Similarly with those responsible for the Rotsler award. Does anyone
care to place any bets?

The card is signed by both Lee and Alexis.
