I doubt the list is set to be moderated. "Moderator" was just a reference to those people who are not owners, but who have some control over the settings of the list. Lots of lists have those so that the list owner doesn't have to do all the work personally. "Assistant to the owner" would be most correct, but the term "moderator" is commonly used.
