I've been following this discussion with no little amusement. People
getting worked up because the DNC *might* be taking a lot of rooms two
weeks in advance. Does anyone know? No, but that's not stopping them.

Denver is a major city with a lot of hotel rooms. The crunch will come
closer to the convention but I can't imagine they'd take as many rooms
as everyone seems to think they will. To me, this is yet another
argument for one year out voting--they'd be debating more useful things
if the con were coming up sooner.

Why do major parties have conventions, Keith asks? From what I hear, for
pretty much the same reasons we do. It's fun to hang with your own brand
of crazies. --Eva
