We got to the reading a few minutes late. Stan was reading from the
section of "Sixty Days and Counting" dealing with mountain climing.
quite amusing. He followed that up with a section dealing with Thoreau
and Emerson. Sorry, no aliens zapped.

Questions folllowed by signing. He is working on a new novel, dealing
with Galileo. If I recall correctly the current title is "The
Galileans"

At the conclusion Stan, Elspeth, and I went over to a nearby Ruby
Tuesday restaurant.

How to make Stan smile: mention the single malts he had at Capclave.

Anyway, talked about a number of things, such as how long it would take
to drive to get to Wilmington, DE. Now, you may very well ask:
"Wilmington, DE?" Seems Stan is a fan of the jazz trumpeter Cliffford
Brown who was born in Wilmington. More here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clifford_Brown . And as expected, the
conversation wandered all over the place.

Stan may be back in the DC area to do something at the National Science
Foundation since there were apparently problems with schedulingthings.

All in all, a right good time.
