I'm placing this next paragraph back near the top because a couple of you have once again been sending HTML messages to the list, and apparently not noticing that they're not going through: HTML messages and messages with attachments cannot be posted to the list, for several reasons, including the fact that they can convey viruses and web bugs, which can reveal your private information to others. If your mailer defaults to sending HTML, please see http://www.expita.com/nomime.html for instructions on how to turn it off. I suggest you turn it off for everyone, since more and more people are deleting all such email unread. (The August 2003 Consumer Reports magazine is one of many sources that recommends deleting HTML email unread to cut down on spam.) 69 people have posted 12,184 messages to the list, an average of 7 per day. 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 averaged 12, 4, 6, 9, and 4 messages per day, respectively. 2007 has averaged 3 messages per day so far. There are currently 50 subscribers, including eight of the ten officers. In the past month nobody has changed email address, subscribed, or unsubscribed.
