Sad news indeed.

Achievement at the 2003 WFC - he was a real gentleman.  I tried to
arrange having him at WFC to accept the award, but for various health
issues - his and his wife - he declined.  (The other honoree - Donald M.
Grant - for different health reasons was also unable to attend.)
