This is how bad rumors get started. I don't start or spread rumors. I was just remarking on the strange silence on the list so close to when I thought the con was scheduled. The only rumor I've heard about Capclave is that it has no open parties, i.e. that all parties are invitation-only. I checked the website, and it's ambiguous on that point. I don't know whether the rumor started from the website, from the Balticon incident, or from some other source. Although the parties are the main things I go to cons for, I do not plan to go to any parties at Capclave except those I'm explicitly invited to, even if the con does in fact have open parties. I feel only marginally welcome at Capclave, so I'm going mainly only because I had told so many people I would be there. Also out of habit -- I've been going to Disclave and Capclave for well over half my life. > The schedule for the convention is up at www.capclave.org Thanks. Like last year, I see inconsistencies between the member list, the program participant list, and the program grid. If anyone cares, I will list them. If nobody cares, I won't waste my time.
