So, Verizon and I have been having a wonderful time.  The most recent lack
of phone service turns out to have been because the whole area shut
down.  After the major confusion about when my phone and DSL should be
changing over, it doing so and changing back, their doing so at different
times, and all the rest it's oddly a relief that this was nothing I could
even try to do something about.

In any event, my high-speed went away a while ago, I've only even had phone
service off and on, and I can't use dial-up except in brief bursts because
it ties up the phone.  Throw in pain-killers and life is ducky.  Now
someone at Verizon who's very, very well-meaning has screwed thing up such
that I won't have anything except for a cell phone for a couple of days and
it will be well into next month before I'm back to being on line much.

Since I thought this would be over soon I hadn't groused about it and
figured that I'd catch up.  Now that it's going to be longer I'm going to
ask that if you've sent me email and I haven't responded would you please
send it again?  And, for those and future emails, could you please put
"IMPORTANT" in the subject line?  Right now there's enough going on with
the family, and a few work related things, that any email that doesn't
catch my attention is being ignored.  I'm sorry if yours has been.

And when I have DSL again I'll post it to the lists.  Going back to dial up
is driving me nuts.
