In the latest (August) WSFA Journal, Steve Smith asks whatever became
of WSFA's sturdy wooden cabinet.

The minutes of the August 7, 1992, meeting contain:

Dan Hoey brought up the Sturdy Woman Cabinet and moved that we give
the thing to Joe Mayhew rather than trying to cart it all over the
metropolitan area. A question was raised about the club archives
stored in the Sturdy Woman. Dan advised that he had removed the
contents from the cabinet and passed them to the Secretary. Another
question was posed about the impact on Joe's health. Dan stated
that we would improve Joe's health by not making him drag the thing
out of his house. The club then unanimously voted to give the
  Sturdy Woman to Joe Mayhew.

Steve presided over that meeting.

A better question is whatever happened to WSFA's lending library and
to its two poker tables.
