Ladies and gentlemen:

On 15 February 2009, Keith Lynch and Mike Bartman said that WSFA's
rules require that meetings be held where all members are free to attend. I
said that WSFA's Standing Rules affirm a host's ability to set policies for
their own homes, including barring uncongenial individuals. Mike Bartman
then pointed out that Article II, Section A, paragraph 2 of the WSFA Bylaws
stated "2. Members in good standing shall have the right to attend and
participate in all meetings of the membership, hold office and vote." Mike
is correct. I did overlook the named paragraph. Of course, the paragraph
also raises the question of "good standing." It's rare that a truly
offensive person offends only one other person. Therefore, a host who
barred a WSFA member from his home for cause might well make the case that
the cause also justifies WSFA revoking membership as Mike suggests.
