I've filed the whole 'good save' thing unread.  I know I should read them
at some point but, much as I care about WSFA and about my friends, would
rather not have to.  I did start a draft of a response to things unread but
what's certainly accurate is:  "I said that I have far better things to do
with my time than deal with this.  I was deceiving myself.  I don't have
many nights at home this month and only two in three weeks.  This is taking
up one of them."  To what degree is it important, anyway?

Ed's important.  Not just because of the WSFA connection but because of who
he is and what he's done.  Sure, if I push it there will be a motion to
send off a token amount.  But it's time and past time that folks start
paying attention to, learning about, and talking about people and things
outside of WSFA.

Hey, at least this might net a hundred dollars for Ed.

I'm back on the road tomorrow, home for a day, then off to San Jose for a
WFC committee meeting.  Stuff to do, family and fanac.  Anyone -- other
than Ted, please, because he knows and will provoke or Michael, who knows
and will joke -- want to comment on the term?  Sam?  Lee?  Mike Bartman can
find and expound upon the definition but just before falling over I've
realized that those are the two that I'm most interested in.  Especially a
dialogue between the two, since they're the most active WSFA members here.

Really too wiped out from too much hotel time, flying time, packing to head
down to take care of things for my folks etc. to be writing and sending
rather than writing and saving.  But I didn't send the long response and am
interested in seeing where this new thread might take things.
