Ladies and gentlemen,
Mike Bartman posed the question "Has [revocation of a WSFAn's
membership] ever happened?" Ted White responded in part "I can't recall it
ever happening.."
I don't know of any case where WSFA has actually revoked an individual's
membership. There have been several cases over the years of members leaving
the club for various reasons but those departures have been voluntary
actions on the part of those who left. There has been occasional discussion
of revoking the membership of someone who had already left but those
suggestions have never gotten beyond the talking stage to my knowledge.
On the other hand, there was at least one case of WSFA revoking an
officer's office. In the mid-1980s, the Trustees determined that the then
Secretary was abusing her office and officially recommended she be removed.
The club concurred and she was removed. People were still talking about
various aspects of that incident when I became Secretary in 1990.
