Actually, I don't think it was him that sent anything.  I believe he was
working for someone else, and just hired as their spokesperson.
Publisher's Clearinghouse wasn't it?

I was a bit surprised too, but most of the people with time to talk in
the news are young, and Fawcett's main career visibility was a while ago.

Michael Jackson, on the other hand, is a hero to many for proving that a
small black boy can, through hard work and surgery, grow up to be a rich
white woman.
