The convention newsletters are available at http://www.anticipationsf.ca/English/Newsletter. These two-page newsletters are PDFs, and some are quite large (over 10 megabytes). The unopposed Reno in 2011 bid won, unsurprisingly. Dates are August 17-21, 2011. That's Wednesday through Sunday, not the more usual Thursday through Monday. It's called Renovation. Their website is http://www.renovationsf.org/. Guests of honor are Tim Powers, Ellen Asher, Boris Vallejo and the late Charles N. Brown. The 2010 NASFiC will be named ReConStruction. It will be in Raleigh, North Carolina, August 5-8 2010. Guests of honor are Eric Flint, Brad Foster, and Juanita Coulson. The toastmaster is Toni Weisskopf. Their website is http://www.reconstructionsf.org/. (It's awfully expensive for a NASFiC -- $95 if you didn't presupport or vote. That's not the at-the-door price, that's what it costs to register right now.) The proposal to delete the Best Semiprozine Hugo category was defeated. The Sidewise Award was won by Chris Roberson, for _The Dragon's Nine Sons_ (long form), and by Mary Rosenblum for "Sacrifice" (short form). The Texas in 2013 bid has settled on San Antonio, using the same facilities as the 1997 Worldcon. I've created or updated all the relevant Wikipedia pages with the above information. The panel discussion between Charlie Stross and Paul Krugman is at http://cluebytwelve.net/anticipation/Stross-Krugman%202009-08-06-24.mp3 (audio, compressed). The Hugos will be awarded tonight starting at 8 pm tonight. If anyone knows of any sites that will be doing live blogging, please tell me. Thanks.
