What's more fascinating is that he's not the only one to hear of
post-1997 Disclaves. Some even report having attended them. In
http://shadesong.livejournal.com/3939424.html, which was written
just one week ago, I read:

I was told 10 years ago at a Disclave gripe session that it was
unreasonable to bring children to cons and expose con goers to them

So, which one of you was running the gripe session at the 1999
Disclave? 'Fess up.

This has got to be some kind of record -- a con that gets a bad
reputation even when it doesn't exist.

I'm reminded of a John Barnes novel in which it turned out that
sufficiently advanced electronic communications technologies
unexpectedly caused messages to leak between alternate realities,
and hijinks ensue.
