Wonderful!  Somebody finally found a real application of
RFC 1149, A Standard for the Transmission of IP Datagrams
on Avian Carriers.  Also, look at its update, RFC 2549.

it was filed. A Linux Users' Group in Norway experimented with
this protocol in 2001; see http://linux.omnipotent.net/article.php?article_id=12239
for details.  But this was the first practical use.
