Subject: [WSFA] WSFA Officer Changes

Dear fellow WSFAns,

As you may be aware, I have assumed the office of WSFA President upon
the resignation of Lee Strong at last Friday's meeting.  I was as
surprised (and unprepared) as everyone else.  Lee also conveyed a
message from Chris Neumann that he has resigned as Trustee.  I want
to thank Colleen for suggesting a short recess for the officers
present to caucus and discuss how to proceed.

With the agreement of the club members present, we decided on the
following courses of action: the Trustees will hold an election for
the two vacant offices, namely, Vice-President and Trustee, in
January. (The office of Treasurer will become vacant in February; the
Trustees will be seeking a candidate for that office as well).  The
by-laws discussion scheduled for that meeting was tabled.

Although I was not expecting to serve as President, I plan to do my
best to carry out the duties of the office until the next regular
election.  I hope I can count on the support and good will of all
WSFAns in this endeavor.  Remember, WSFA is a voluntary, social
club.  When attendance at the meetings stops being fun, members stop
showing up.  Let us proceed with good will and try to put bad
feelings behind us.
