Mark had suffered from complications of diabetes for a long time. Mark had an encyclopedic knowledge of SF literature. He was co-author, = with the late Jack Chalker, of the bibliographic reference works "The Science Fantasy Publishers" and "The Revised H.P. Lovecraft Bibliography" = published by Mirage Press which was a Hugo Award nominee in 1992 ["The Science-Fantas= y Publishers" was the Hugo nominee - mjw]. Mark was a driving force behind Balticon Literary programing for several decades. Mark Owings was a frequent program participant on panels at other SF cons including Worldcon. He served on the two Worldcon committees for Worldcons based in Baltimore. Mark is survived by his wife Jul. He will be greatly missed. ............................................... mjw
