After 6 PM might have been a better time.  It is sort of the
thing that has to be done early in the con, but maybe it
should be posted at the registration desk so people arriving
don't have to have read the schedule to know about it. Most
people don't read the schedule right away because they've
arrived late and are only checking to see what's on Right Now.

A volunteer, perhaps. Many people attend cons intending
to contribute from the audience.
