To all:

Joe's passing was one of the traumatic *community* events within WSFA.
It was frightening, heartbreaking and confusing, but a fair number of
folks were brought together in a very positive way during his last few
weeks, and memories of him poured out of fandom after his death.

Evan had already called me up before I saw Keith's email, but I appreciate
it nevertheless. Keith's message, in a way, reminds me of Joe's (and
SF's!?) simultaneous focus on the past and the future, and certainly of
his interest in life and humanity. Thanks, Keith.

If I get time and focus (hah!) I may write more about Joe (who was my
best friend for a number of years---and very occasionally I was his best
friend too), but for now, just let it be okay to remember the bad and
good times.

Be seeing you,
