Prior to June, 1960, WSFA met on the first and third Sunday. The change was proposed by Bob Pavlat. I wonder how surprised he would have been if he had known how long his change would last. That's 600 first Fridays, 600 third Fridays, and 195 fifth Fridays (two of which were in February). In June, 1960, Eisenhower was president, JFK was a candidate, Edward Murrow reported the news, telephones had dials rather than buttons, the Beatles didn't exist, _Analog_ was still called _Astounding_, and John W. Campbell still edited it, and nobody had ever been in space.
