Thanks. I have broken the code. The thumbnails all end with Ti.jpg. Changing that to Th.jpg, S.jpg, and D.jpg gets me larger and larger image files, which are presumably the same photo in four different resolutions. There are 104 or 105 such set of four files (some variants are missing). There are 107 files on the Facebook page. Are these the same images? None of the Facebook files are identical to any of the Smugmug files, and the Facebook files are all dated December 31, 2007 or December 31, 2008. The total size is about 400 megabytes. At 9600 bps that would take about two full days to download. Skipping the highest resolution set would knock it down to 9 megabytes, which would take a more reasonable three hours, so I'll probably do that, and come back the following weekend for the highest resolution versions of the pictures that I want to inspect under a (virtual) magnifying glass, if any. There's plenty of room on the laptop for all the high resolution images, but then I'd no longer be able to back up all my files onto a 4 gig thumb drive. (I have several, one of which is always in my pocket, and two of which are buried in the woods.) (And I do mean *all* my files. *Millions* of emails and newsgroup postings, some dating back over 30 years. Plus the complete WSFA website as of when I resigned as webmaster. And much more.) I don't have room to store all these image files permantnly on Panix, either, but I can keep them in the /tmp directory until the next reboot. And that will probably be a while, as the current uptime is 95 days. Of course I could always grab another copy of the set from Smugmug if I lose this copy, but that might cost Mike money.
