I received several emails late last night, claiming to be from a WSFA
member, asking for money for medical treatment for a relative.

If you receive any email from someone you know asking for money, if
you're inclined to give it, ask them first if whether it's really
them, or whether someone is forging their email address.

By phone:

victim: Hello?
scammer: It's your favorite grandson.
victim: Bobby?
scammer: Yes, Grammaw. I'm in Topeka.
victim: Topeka? What are you doing in Topeka?
scammer: It's a long story, Grammaw, and I can't talk long. I need bail=
 money. It's $500.
victim: What can I do?
scammer: You can call Western Union....
