"Fishing" isn't always for fish. You can fish for compliments, fish around for coins in your pocket, etc. Fishing is just seeking something you aren't sure is going to get found where you are looking for it. On _Deadliest Catch_ I heard a comment when a bunch of crab pots came up empty, "That's why they call it 'fishing', not 'catching'...". -- Mike B.
