Ah, I missed the "coffee-table" part.
Yes, you'd have to go to microscopic levels
to seal an futuristic city into a coffee table
unless it was put down sideways, or unless
you had one of those steamer-trunk shaped
coffee tables that are hollow and go to the
floor.

It reminds me of when I worked out the
measurements for the Gnome house in the book,
_Gnomes_, and realized that unless it were
cut in half, the house would be too big to
got through a normal door in all its
dimensions.

Sometimes I find that the disappointment
is a good thing; it might have been a lot
of fun to build, but like the full-sized
Tardis that opened out to become two
bookshelves (with telephone and video player
locations built in), where the heck would
I put it?

Designing is fun, though.
