Best reason I've ever seen for e-books.  Not that I use them, but that would be a reason.

E-books are still new enough that the rubric of publishing is still evolving to incorporate them and
actually doing pretty well. This particular aspect of size is one of the things being worked in.

Mom has an e-book reader but there are still some books which should be bought in hard-copy to go on
the shelves.  Fortunately not many, since I'm trying to get things *out* of the house, but generally
I agree with the ones she chooses.  And recently she bought a very well-reviewed biography.  But she
had to give up, return it and get the electronic edition: the actual book was big enough that she
simply couldn't handle it.

Personally right now I'm in favor of hard-copy but this is a case where if she hadn't switched to
the e-book I would have recommended it.  She wanted to read it and now she can.
