My Hughes (DirectTV) DVR is not adaptable when the published schedule
isn't followed, and to anticipate sports overruns I'd have to pay
attention to sports, which would require spending time on sports when I
have some important pocket lint to arrange instead.

That would be wise of them.  Due to this decision of theirs, I won't be
watching Terra Nova episodes until at least 8 days after they are run
from now on, which makes any of their "watch this Saturday!" type ads
pointless in my case.
