I waited a few days before posting to see if a rebuttal would appear.
Since this incident has been widely publicized, I'm sure it would have
appeared by now.  Of course you're welcome to keep searching for one.
Or to contact Amazon and ask them about it directly.

Either way, be sure to carefully read the contract before signing up.
What exactly are you paying for?  What recourse will you have if what
allegedly happened in that incident happens to you?

Like most fen, I've invested a lot of money in books over the years.
In my case, they're all on paper.  For them all to vanish would
be roughly equivalent to someone burning down my home, destroying
everything in it.  (Almost.  I do own a few things that aren't books.)
I would never consider signing a contract with any bookseller that had
an arson-is-allowed clause.
