*sigh*
When I lived in Austin, TX, every 3-4 years we'd get a *huge* snowfall
of 0.25" - 0.5". Since people's memories last a month or so, they
couldn't remember the last one. I'd laugh hysterically as half of them
were still trying to do 80mpg+, and the other half were doing about 5mph.

Oh, and my late wife *had* lived in north Texas, and so could drive on
mud and ice, but didn't care to, and so declared me, a Philly expat, the
Designated Yankee.
