Ah, that was the phrase I was searching for.  Of course you're right, the really inefficient ones were in 1974, the ones that wiped out any improvement in emissions by cutting the mileage in half.

And speaking of weather preparations, the weather prediction is for freezing rain, tonight and Monday.  If you possibly can avoid it, don't drive!
Longtime residents and locals may have "learned how to drive on black ice" but there is NO safe speed on ice.
