The people running NADWCON this year were in the hallway of a local con when they got the phone call saying the system was set up so they could now take money - and I happened to be walking by at the moment.  I'd talked with them earlier, so I asked whether I could give them money right then.  They called to be sure, got the go-ahead, and accepted my check on the spot.  I'm still incredibly fantisted that they gave me the number one membership.  I think it bodes well for the fannish nature of the North American DiscWorld Convention this year.
