Planetary Resources has initiated a Kickstarter campaign to build and
launch "the world's first crowd-funded space telescope" and is looking
for backers, the company said Wednesday.

Planetary Resources is looking to raise $1 million to build a low-Earth
orbit telescope using its own Arkyd technology. In the coming years, the
company also plans to use the telescope to send swarms of unmanned probes
to near-Earth asteroids to search for water, precious metals, and other
minable resources.
