AUTUMNAL EQUINOX PARTY AND SONG CIRCLE

Hi, one and all.

We're having a houseparty on Sat, Sept. 21, starting around 7 PM,
with some refreshments. Later in the evening, we expect to have a
  song circle [1].

The harvest has been coming in, and it will be the Equinox, the end
of Summer, and Fall coming in. It is a golden time of balance.

Of course, we, The Unbalanced, have plenty to celebrate too: the
19th is the birthday of Hermione Grainger (from Harry Potter)[2], and
Talk Like A Pirate Day [3], while the 22nd is Bilbo and Frodo's birthday.

Feel free to bring a tuneful or percussion instrument (acoustic
only), a songbook or song sheet, a drink or food to share.
(Please, we don't need 8 bottles of wine unopened at the end of the
  party!)

Please RSVP, so we don't have too little or too much food. When you
do, we'll forward address, phone #, and suggested ways to get here.

           Mark, Barbara, and Lock

  1. In a song circle, we all take turns with "pick, play, or pass":
that is, pick a song for someone or all to sing/play, or sing/play
something yourself, or just say "I pass", and it goes to the next
person. You may not be able to match the household for singing (in
the key of Off), and you are not required to. This is for fun.
  2. It's cannon, er, canon.
  3. Arrggh, maties!
