I'm trying to get reasonable insurance quotes for an upcoming filk
convention.  So far it's proven harder than I expected.  In the past
we've trusted in hope, but the hotel would really like us to have our
own insurance.

One site gave an online quote, without human intervention, of a price
below $150, but it specifically excluded performers and volunteers,
which makes it almost worthless.  Another company that I talked to
said they only insure one-day events.  Another set a minimum of over
$500 no matter how small the event.  Small cons seem to be in an empty
space between personal events and huge conventions.

Can anyone recommend an insurer that would be worth talking to,
perhaps one that other cons have used?
