 A deal has been completed to move Balticon 50 from the Hunt Valley
Inn to the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel. See the hotel

This change of Venue will come with many advantages:

More Function Space for a dramatically Lower Cost.
Match of HV Room Rate, nicer rooms same cost.
Directly across Pratt Street from Inner Harbor Promenade.
Many Food Choices within steps of the hotel and not across four lane highway.
Effectively No Cap on Attendance at Con. (1775 at HV  verses 3250 at
Ren can be on-site)
Easy access to Port Discovery, Constellation and Other Ships on
display, Science Center etc...
Basically at the end of the I-395/Conway/Light Street path to Inner
Harbor Area so easy to find by Car from I-95.
More elevators that are large and actually work and only 12 floors
(unlike the old Omni)
It's a beautiful hotel with everything we need and reminds one of a
old picture of a space colony only with the best of Baltimore spread
out when you look out a window.

To quote Marty Gear about 15 years ago, "The Stouffers would be a
great hotel for Balticon, too bad they don't want SF cons" only they
are no longer a Stouffers with their prejudice against SF Cons and
they really want Balticon.

After looking over the hotel, I said, "ok, for this hotel I will pay
for parking."  (We even have a plan for a parking discount)
