Martin Deutsch Commemoration:

The Baltimore Science Fiction Society Board of Directors invites all
of SF fandom to a commemoration and celebration of the life and works
of Martin E. Deutsch, President of BSFS, to be held March 18, 2017 at
the BSFS Building, 3310 East Baltimore Street, Baltimore Maryland.
Gathering at 1:00pm. Presentations at 2:00pm. Building remaining open
till 7:00pm+  for celebration of his life. (or until people want to
leave) The BSFS Building has been rebuilt bit by bit over time by
Martin with help from his friends, so this is a most fitting site for
a commemoration of his life in the science fiction community. Martin
may have been taken from us by fate, but his works live on. For

March Movie Night Canceled:

The March BSFS Movie Night event previously scheduled for March 18th
has been canceled that night. We will run the scheduled movie in
April.

April Election at BSFS:

With the passing of Martin Deutsch creating a vacancy in the officers
of the Baltimore Science Fiction Society, the BSFS Board of Directors,
in accordance with the rules set fourth in Article 3 Sections 3 and 4
of the BSFS By-Laws, calls an election to be held April 8, 2017 toward
the end of the normally scheduled BSFS business meeting. Donna
Dearborn has tendered her resignation as recording secretary to the
society, effective March 12 due to mobility problems. An election,
therefore, will be conducted for the offices of President and
Recording Secretary, and such other offices and positions as may
subsequently be required by By-Laws Article 4 Section 1 regarding
holding more than one office at once, if the President's and
Secretary=E2=80=99s election creates a conflict. We thank everyone for thei=
