I have been on a number of Yahoo lists, and I suppose they work well enough, but I prefer something that is actively managed, does not have a heavy commercial component, and regards privacy a bit more highly. I don't participate that much any more in any lists, online fora (even, sadly, Amiga ones), or so-called "social media"***. My ambition now is to stay in some touch by email with a tiny handful of very old friends. Not doin' a great job of that either. I don't have any advice about the WSFA list. It seems like this horse has left the stable. I don't think that putting the official list on Yahoo was a malicious act. Maybe just the easiest thing, or maybe somebody thought Yahoo would put a lot of work into pushing the technology ahead. I wouldn't take it personally. ----------------------------------------------------------- ***Yes. I know. That day 3000 years ago that I went up the mountain to get those two stone tablets with all the rules on them, and God pulled me aside and said "Facebook's really great, ain't it!" And sometimes I do use it to reply "Yeah, me too" to Avedon, or to watch my kids look at baby pictures, or to get friend requests from punk-looking teenage girls who don't wear much clothing and that I've never met, and the like. I don't know why Facebook seems like such a *steaming* pile of crap to me, when it's clearly the greatest platform for human interaction that has ever existed outside of a men's room stall. I guess I'm just unmutual. Thanks Keith, -- Walter A. Miles, Jr. 417 Lincoln Ave., Takoma Park, MD 20912
