Subject: [WSFA] WSFA website restoration
Date: Wed, 4 Sep 2019 23:24:56 -0400 (EDT)

I recently looked at the WSFA website for the first time in years. I
discovered that the 30 years of WSFA Journals that my brother and I
had, over several months of work, digitized and placed on the website
had all vanished, as had the archives of this list, the pichist
directory (which I had nothing to do with), and much else.

Sam Lubell told me via email that the website had gotten hacked,
and that the webmaster was still working on getting everything back
online. I had seen the note to that effect on the main page, but
it implied that everything had been recovered two months ago.
Also, I wouldn't have thought it would take more than an hour
or two to wipe everything and restore from the latest backup.

Cathy Green told me in person (at the National Book Festival last
weekend) that the website had been hacked multiple times.

To aid in the restoration, I have placed an image of the website
as of when I left the club in 2005 online at KeithLynch.net/wsfa
None of the many files contain any scripts, as I judged that
there was too much risk of hacking due to poor security in the
scripting languages, so they're perfectly safe to place back on
the WSFA website.

In case the webmaster doesn't read this list, someone mention this
at Friday's meeting, preferably by reading the whole of this message
to the room. Thanks.
