I'm hoping Sam will snag a copy for the Journal. Which he is free to
do for any and all messages here, except those where the sender asks
that it not be put in the Journal, which no messages have yet.

Congratulations. You beat my length record by quoting every single
word of my message in your message complaining of its length. Now
*yours* is the longest. Of course I could easily beat it by quoting
every word of *your* message, including every word of mine. But I've
always believed its obnoxious to do so. Since this belief doesn't
seem to be shared by anyone else here, I won't block or snip such
quotings.

Instead of complaining about all the one line messages that quote
hundreds of lines of old messages, I decided to post the sort of
message that I'd like to see more of here. I didn't think 16k was
particularly long by today's standards. Before I blocked all HTML
email and email with attachments from this domain, rare was the day
I didn't receive at least a dozen messages of more than ten times
that size.

This is WSFA's list, not my list, so what do all of you think? Should
I block all messages of more than a certain size? If so, what size?
Mine was 16k. The longest message before today was 11k.

Should I automatically snip all bottom-posted quoted text? In some
cases this may make it harder to tell what someone is replying to.
But it would cut down the text volume (but not the message volume)
of this list by a factor of three.

Reminder: Archives of this list are available at
http://www.wsfa.org/list/. New subscribers, please view the first
message there. Please don't post that URL to any newsgroup or web
page. Thanks.
