An amateur radio operator picks up a mysterious signal from space.
Oddly familiar. Like something from the past.

No, it's not a new SF story. It's true. The Oscar 7 amateur radio
satellite which was launched in 1974 and died in 1981 has just come
back to life.

Unfortunately, the frequency bands it operates in are no longer
assigned to amateur radio. It can be reprogrammed, but does anyone
remember the password and protocols to reprogram it?
