In addition to Shoppers Food Warehouse, which quite reasonably boasts
in their direct mail ads of not requiring a card, Trader Joes, My
Organic Market, Food Star, Fresh Fields, and Magruders don't have
cards.  Fresh Fields had one for a while, but got rid of it due to
complaints from customers including me.

Note that there's a My Organic Market fairly close to the Ginters',
and a Food Star very close to the Gillilands'.

I no longer shop at Giant, Safeway, or CVS.  I've made them aware
that I will resume shopping there when they get rid of their cards.
