An annual convention in New York.
Tuesday, March 25th: Probing the Universe With Gravitational Waves
Talk by Kip Thorne at the Carnegie Institute, 1530 P St. NW,
near the Dupont Circle Metro station on the Red Line, at 6:30

Wednesday, March 26th: Computer Consciousness, Q Machine, and Computer Security
Talk by Stephen Younger. EVENT CANCELLED.
Thursday, March 27th: Blacks in SF Symposium
Blacks in Science Fiction: A New Frontier. Symposium includes
lectures by authors Octavia Butler, Tananarive Due, and Steven
Barnes on their work. Howard University, Blackburn Center, 2400
6th St. NW, near the Shaw-Howard University Metro station on
the Green Line. 9 am - 5 pm. Free. 202-806-5611.
Thursday, March 27th: Authors at Vertigo Books
Octavia Butler, Tananarive Due, Steven Barnes, and Nalo
Hopkinson discuss and sign their books, at 7 pm at Vertigo
Books in College Park, Maryland, 1/4 mile west of the College
Park Metro station on the Green line.
March 28 - 29: Used book sale
Used book sale at Johns Hopkins University Press in Baltimore.
Friday, April 4th: WSFA First Friday Meeting

Friday, April 11th: Jasper Fforde speaks at LoC
Jasper Fforde, author of Lost in a Good Book, reads at the
Library of Congress Madison Building, 3rd floor, Pickford

Used book sale at the Stone Ridge School in Bethesda Maryland,
near the Medical Center Station on Metro's Red Line. Here are

Toronto hosts the first non-US Worldcon of the new Millennium.
October 30 - November 2: World Fantasy Convention
WSFA hosts the 29th annual World Fantasy Convention, at the
Hyatt Regency in Washington DC.
November 21 - 23: Capclave 2003
WSFA is putting on a convention! In Silver Spring, MD.
December 12 - 14: Philcon 2003
The Philadelphia Science Fiction Society (PSFS) brings you
another Philcon. In Philadelphia.
2004
September 2 - 6: 62nd World SF Convention: Noreascon 4
Back to Boston.
2005
August 4 - 8: 63rd World SF Convention: Interaction
Glasgow, once more with ceilings.
