Tuesday, May 20th: James Oberg talk
    "Toward a Theory of Space Power: Defining Principles for U.S.
    Space Policy" With James Oberg. At noon in NW DC. Sponsored by
    the George Marshall Institute. Lunch provided - Reservations
    required (RSVP to info at marshall.org or (202) 296-9655).

Wednesday, May 21st: Space: The Free Market Frontier
    Talk by Ed Hudgins at a restaurant at Rosslyn at 7 pm.

May 23 - 26: Balticon 37
    The Baltimore Science Fiction Society (BSFS) brings you another
    Balticon!

Friday, May 30th: Fifth Friday
    WSFA often has a party on months with a fifth Friday. But not
    this time. Sorry.

Saturday, May 31st: Life Extension Society Meeting
    The local cryonics and life extension group will hold an open
    meeting at 2 PM at Dr. Ron Havelock's house at 1654 Cedar Lane,
    Shady Side, Maryland. Email me for directions.

Monday, June 2nd: Dr. Who viewing
    The Northern Virginia Doctor Who Viewing Society will be
    showing "Planet of Fire" at the Fairfax Government Center
    starting at 7 pm.

Thursday, June 5th: DC Transhumanist Dinner
    7 pm at Hamburger Hamlet in Crystal City.

Friday, June 6th: WSFA First Friday Meeting
    Regular WSFA meeting, at the Ginters', not the Gillilands'.

Friday, June 20th: WSFA Third Friday Meeting
    Regular WSFA meeting, at the Gillilands', not the Ginters'.

July 4 - 6: CastleCon 15
    Fantek's annual summer convention, in Reston this year.

Friday, July 4th: WSFA First Friday Meeting
    This meeting may be combined with a picnic, rather than being
    at the usual place and time. Stay tuned for location and times.

Monday, July 7th: Dr. Who viewing
    The Northern Virginia Doctor Who Viewing Society will be
    showing "Dragonfire" at the Fairfax Government Center starting
    at 7 pm.

July 11 - 13: Shore Leave 25
    Annual, fan-run, Star-Trek-focused convention in Hunt Valley,
    Maryland (outside of Baltimore).

Friday, July 18th: WSFA Third Friday Meeting
    Regular WSFA meeting (at the Ginters' as usual). Newcomers

Wednesday, August 27th: MARS is closer than ever before in recorded history
    At 5:51 a.m., MARS is closer to Earth than it has been for
    73,000 years, or will be again until 2287.

August 28 - September 1: 61st World SF Convention: Torcon 3
    Toronto hosts the first non-US Worldcon of the new Millennium.

October 30 - November 2: World Fantasy Convention
    WSFA hosts the 29th annual World Fantasy Convention, at the
    Hyatt Regency in Washington DC.

November 21 - 23: Capclave 2003
    WSFA is putting on a convention! In Silver Spring, MD.

December 12 - 14: Philcon 2003
    The Philadelphia Science Fiction Society (PSFS) brings you
    another Philcon. In Philadelphia.

September 2 - 6: 62nd World SF Convention: Noreascon 4
    Back to Boston.

                              2005

August 4 - 8: 63rd World SF Convention: Interaction
    Glasgow, once more with ceilings.
