I'm pleased to see that the WSFA Journal is being read online, and
cited. I knew it was getting lots of hits, but it wasn't clear how
many were from SF fans, rather than from people who stumbled into it
via Google or other search engine due to some chance phrase they
happened to be searching on.

Then I noticed a long posting in the rec.arts.sf.written newsgroup.
You can read the whole thing at the URL mentioned within it (which
contains a link to the cited review in the WSFA Journal). Here are
the relevant excerpts:

Subject: [WSFA] 2003 Hugo nominees, again
  Date: 8 Jun 2003 05:59:13 -0700

For once I have actually read all the Hugo fiction nominees, in every
category. I had hoped to be able to post my views as replies to
Richard Horton's excellent set of articles from April, but
unfortunately six weeks is a long time in Usenet and it's no longer
possible. I refer to a large number of other reviews of the books and
stories in question below; I have linked to all of these from the web
version of this post, at http://explorers.whyte.com/sf/Hugo2003.htm -
comments welcome, to my real email address (explorers at whyte dot

  review.

  Best Novel

  1) My own vote goes to _The Years of Rice and Salt_ by Kim Stanley

Entirely positive reviews: Gavin J. Grant on BookPage, Keith Brooke on

Lalumière in infinity plus / the Montreal Gazette, Mark Bould in
Foundation, and Colleen R. Cahill in the WSFA Journal. ...
